The concept began
on a saturday afternoon when Jack and his
friend Bryan decided to go out and practice field
goal kicks.
After trying from 25 and 30 yards, Jack realized it was easier
than he thought so he kept backing up. Eventually, he ended
up at a distance of 50 yards and made the kick!
A few weeks later at a barbeque, he was mentioning the distance
to a few friends and they didn't believe him (Bryan wasn't there).
A couple of them said they didn't believe him and he thought
"hmmm...a money making possibility". He called Tom Whiting,
the head of Chargerbackers, the San Diego Chargers official
fan club and asked him about donating the proceeds to
Huntington's Disease - the cause for the annual Chargerbackers
Golf Tournament that Jack has attended for several years. Tom
loved the idea - so the event was born!
On Sunday May 20, Jack stepped up and successfully kicked
from 35, 45 and 50 yards (he missed from 52 yards).
Next year - He WILL make 52!!
